Pat McGrath Enters the Foundation Game with 36 Shades
The excitement around every Pat McGrath latest release is as loud as the colorful and richly pigmented lipsticks she's known for: Mother is entering the complexion game with the launch of Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection foundation.
Described as her "secret to runway radiance," it's the first release in the new Pat McGrath complexion trio, which also includes the Sublime Perfection Primer and Setting Powder.
It took McGrath 25 years (!) to whip up the perfect foundation formula, which combines Vita-Serum Complex to tackle wrinkles and boost hydration and Diamond Core Powder Technology to soften and smooth the skin's texture. The artist is launching with 36 shades that fall into five different shade categories—light, light medium, medium, medium deep, and deep—all of which were tested on set, backstage at runway shows and on the runway.
With several beauty brands coming out with 40+ shade ranges, 36 might seem small to most, but Pat insists 36 is all she needs. "As a makeup artist, we know the real amount of shades that we need when we’re doing 250 girls of all nationalities," she told Bustle. "According to professionals, this is the number. This is the full amount of colors I would have in my kit if I was going to cover the world."
As for the other products launching, the Sublime Perfection Primer is a "major moisture magnet" that works to freshen up skin and provide a velvety matte base for the Sublime Perfection Foundation. Keep everything in place with the silky smooth Sublime Perfection Setting Powder, which comes in five shades to enhance the finish of your foundation.
Set your phone reminders because Pat McGrath's Skin Fetish: Sublime Foundation ($68), Primer ($60), and Setting Powder ($55) will launch on July 26 online at patmcgrath.com.
